The Mount Promise

Mount Group of Companies has dedicated efforts to attain safety and environmental stewardship, as well as legislative affairs and sustainability.

Acting on Our Promise

Mount Group prioritizes reuse and recycling over disposal as solid waste, and maintains two facilities that provide alternatives to fighting for limited landfill space. Mount Materials LLC at KIPC in Bucks County accepts clean fill material for processing and recycling, for use either as reclamation fill or for road base in transportation construction projects.

Harleysville Materials mines virgin stone and accepts certain fill material as reclamation fill, diverting what would otherwise be solid waste to a PADEP-permitted project to restore the mine into a meadow.

Sustainability

Environmental sustainability is about making responsible decisions that will reduce your business's negative impact on the environment. Mount Group of Companies affirms this commitment by:

  • Maintaining A-901 licensed solid waste transporters in NJ and Act 90 Authorized Transporters for Mount Materials and BWR in PA.
  • Using electric equipment for material processing to reduce air emissions from operations.

Our materials are 100% recycled and we continuously strive to make our company as safe and environmentally friendly as possible.

Environmental Stewardship

This refers to responsible use and protection of the natural environment through conservation and sustainable practices. Mount Group of Companies affirms this commitment by:

  • Maintaining several permits related to solid waste management, air quality, and water quality activities throughout our operations.
  • Establishing an internal facility audit program to review permits and assess compliance and recordkeeping practices.

Legislative Responsibility

Mount Group of Companies avoids any form of complacency in our everyday application and the legislation that affects our industries.

Both as members of trade associations and on its own, the Mount Group regularly and actively engages the NJ Legislature on several bills that intersect the utility and transportation construction industries, and waste management industries. The Mount Group advocates for the balance of these interests with environmental stewardship.
