Founded in 1991, Mount Construction Company, Inc., is a full-service Construction, Site Improvement and Emergency Response services provider in New Jersey and the surrounding areas. As a start-to-finish single source for construction requirements, Mount Construction Company, Inc.’s complete scope of services include: bridge construction; excavation and site work; water and sewer installation; storm water management systems installation; structural concrete work; milling, paving and concrete road work; demolition work; maintenance work including concrete sawing/sealing, patching, and concrete deck repairs; and emergency construction solutions. Mount Materials, LLC opened their recycling facility in January 2010. The operation sits on thirty acres in the Keystone Industrial Port Complex in Fairless Hills, PA. Mount Materials is a full-service recycling operation taking in concrete, asphalt, fill material and any Class B materials produced by our customer base. Mount Materials is a fully permitted, fully-approved facility producing state certified PennDOT No.C2A aggregate and NJDOT DGA certified material. Other products produced on site include: Recycled Crushed Concrete; Concrete Ballast; Crushed Asphalt; Recycled Custom Blends; Recycled Commercial Sub-base; NJ I-14 Recycled Material; Quarry AASHTO #57 Size (2B); Quarry AASHTO #3 Stone; Quarry AASHTO 2A Modified; and Quarry AASHTO #1 Ballast.

Harleysville Materials, LLC is a Quarry and Asphalt Plant in the heart of Montgomery County and is one of the oldest Argillite Quarries in the area -- formerly known as the S Stone Quarry in Lower Salford Township. Today we continue the rich tradition of mining in Montgomery County and expanded our operation to include a Hot-Mix Asphalt Plant. The Quarry is ideally located to serve the Delaware Valley and all points in New Jersey.

Located at our Headquarters in Berlin, New Jersey, Bull Waste & Recycling, Inc., (BW&R) is a natural fit to round out our lines of service. We work hand-in-hand with our materials businesses to offer 20, 30 and 40 yard Roll-Off containers for residential, commercial and industrial use. Disposal Services include: bulky trash; construction/demolition debris; non-friable asbestos. Our recycling services include: asphalt and concrete; roofing shingles; brush/stumps/soil. In addition, BW&R is now offering reclamation fill.

We are currently seeking to add to the Mount Construction team a Project Manager who will be working out of our Berlin, NJ Office.

Job Summary:

The Project Manager is responsible for all aspects of the project from commencement to completion of punch list items. The position oversees design, engineering, scheduling, estimating, staffing and purchasing, while monitoring job costs and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented, quick-thinking, multitasking problem-solver.

Essential Duties & Responsibilitiesinclude the following:

  • Contract initialization, including setting up projects, reviewing plans and specifications
  • Communicating directly with the Owner/Developers, their representatives, and subcontractors as it relates to project cost, staffing, and scheduling
  • Prepares project status reports while working to ensure that plans adhere to contract specifications and to assist with troubleshooting
  • Administers contracts, processes payments and change orders for Contractors and record in database
  • Develops and revises specifications as required
  • Ensures compliance with environmental and safety codes
  • Travels to job sites required

Qualification/requirements:

  • B.S. in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, related major, or equivalent. Continuing education in construction is highly desirable.
  • 7+ years in construction with experience in a supervisory/management capacity required.
  • Estimating experience a plus!
  • Experience with DOT construction and project estimating
  • Ability to read blueprints, structural drawings and plan sets
  • Experience managing budgets for large construction projects
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • OSHA training/certification
  • Viewpoint and HCSS software skills a plus!

  • Organize and manage a centralized cost estimating database and a formal process to support cost estimating.
  • Analyze completed projects to compare estimated costs to actual costs and determine the reason for any discrepancies. Provide improvement recommendations to cost estimating procedures to reduce future discrepancies between estimated and actual costs. Identify cost trends to assist management in cost reduction and process improvement efforts.

Qualification/requirements:

  • BS or BA required. Preferred areas of study include construction, management, or engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in Estimating in heavy highway contractor estimating and purchasing
  • Specified experience must include 5+ years of experience estimating and purchasing bids for the NJDOT, NJTA, and DRPA. Experience in PennDOT and DelDot , a plus.
  • Familiarity with Heavy Highway Union Agreements
  • Must possess working knowledge of HCSS Heavybid
  • Requires excellent computer skills (MS Office/Excel) and well-developed budgeting, purchasing and organizational skills

Mount Construction has an immediate need for a full time Construction Project Engineer with 0-3 years’ experience in the Construction or Civil Engineering fields who will work out of our office in Berlin, NJ. The Construction Project Engineer is a critical role for the successful completion of infrastructure construction projects. This position is responsible for working closely with the project teams, consisting of the project managers, superintendents, field engineers, and estimators. This team is responsible to complete the planning and execution of construction tasks within the constraints of schedule, budget, and quality standards of the client. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication, time management, and organization skills for this position.

At the Mount Group, the Construction Project Engineer position allows for wide ranging development for the individual within the construction industry. The Mount Group encourages the participation in various industry related associations along with the continuing education of the employees. Many on this path of Construction Project Engineer will develop into the Project Manager role or other leadership positions.

Responsibilities of the Construction Project Engineer include but are not limited to the following:

  • Establish and maintain excellent professional relationships with clients, engineers, architects, project managers, and construction workers
  • Complete responsibility for the document control of the project (RFIs, submittals, change orders, claims, etc.)
  • Assist with project planning, including equipment and manpower
  • Prepare engineering submittals and work plans in conformance with the project planning and specifications
  • Complete project takeoffs and buyout of project materials
  • Prepare and distribute project look ahead schedule and track progress for CPM schedule
  • Participation in preconstruction, progress, and close out meetings
  • Coordinate project changes and issues with internal and external project team
  • Assist with the preparation and distribute project specific work plan to the project team (plans, specifications, list of subcontractors and vendors, project budget, etc.)
  • Review, verify and approve subcontractor invoices, verify field measurements
  • Coordinate scheduling with subcontractor
  • Coordinate invoices to customers, including follow-up, verification of payments, payment dates

Applicant requirements:

  • Minimum 0-3 years’ experience in construction or civil engineering related to road, bridge and site improvement projects
  • Minimum 0-3 years’ using construction related computer software (HCSS HeavyBid, HCSS HeavyJob)
  • Ability to read and understand plans and specifications
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

We are seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator that has a mechanical background to join our team in Morrisville, PA with occasional work in our quarry in Harleysville, PA. An ideal candidate will strive to maximize equipment run time and achieve daily production goals.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Operate heavy equipment in a safe and productive manner to prepare materials for crushing
  • Perform routine inspection and preventative maintenance on equipment
  • Operate other equipment and labor and needed
  • Comply with OSHA and MSHA standards

Qualification/requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience operating heavy equipment in truck yard environment
  • Experience filling dump trucks and recycling facility equipment
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds and climb ladders to work in overhead positions requiring harness and safety line
  • Mechanical aptitude to use tools for repairs and maintenance
  • Able to act as backup for location in Harleysville, a plus
  • Must be age 21 or older and have valid driver’s license

The Construction Superintendent will provide on-site coordination for all phases of construction projects, including coordinating subcontractors, manpower, material and equipment, ensuring that specifications are being strictly followed, and work is proceeding on schedule and within budget. The Construction Superintendent shall be responsible for scheduling, job cost, inspections, quality control, and job site safety.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the on-site construction team
  • Assure project is completed on time and within budget
  • Coordinate and oversee all work on site
  • Attend project management meetings
  • Coordinate required inspections with local jurisdictions
  • Maintain daily log of activities on the jobsite

We are currently seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic. The position requires a self-starter who can troubleshoot problems and identify issues and available to work some nights and weekends at our Mount Materials site in Blackwood, NJ.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Comply with company safety policies and practices
  • Experience working outdoors in all types of weather
  • Evaluate and document repairs, system problems and perform preventative maintenance
  • Escalate solving technical problems by communicating with the Superintendent
  • Handle problems in a professional manner during difficult high-pressure situations
  • Establish preventative maintenance schedules according to company specifications

Qualification/requirements

  • 3 years of experience repairing and maintaining equipment and trucks
  • CDL License required

  • Operates vehicle in accordance with Mount Materials’ rules, OSHA and DOT requirements as well as all local, municipal, state, and federal laws.
  • Performs pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned equipment and documents checks on standard DVIR.
  • Immediately reports any unsafe situations or service related issues to Dispatch.
  • Attends and participates in all scheduled training programs, briefings, and meetings required by Mount Materials.
  • Performs all duties as scheduled by Dispatch.
  • Assists other drivers as directed to meet customer needs.

Qualification/requirements:

  • 3+ years' experience driving Roll Off trucks.
  • Valid Class A or B CDL required.

Harleysville Materials is seeking a Quarry Laborer / Off-Road Haul Truck Operator to work out of their quarry in Harleysville, PA. In addition to quarry laboring, this person may also drive the company’s off-road vehicle taking material from the quarry face to the crusher.

QUARRY LABORER / OFF-ROAD HAUL TRUCK OPERATOR

  • Perform basic labor functions, such as lifting, shoveling and climbing, at heights up to 70 feet, in a steady and safe manner
  • Inspect, maintain and operate off-road haul truck, and other equipment, such as skid steer and man lift, as deemed necessary for the position, in a safe and efficient manner
  • Participates in all mandatory training classes
  • Maintains a clean, well-maintained and organized work area
  • Work in outdoor processing environment

The Scale House Assistant will safely and efficiently process customer trucks through the scale, which includes efficiently loading and then ticketing in a manner to minimize in-yard times and customer wait times. The position requires a reliable, self-starter who is available to work weekdays along with weekends.
