One of the oldest Argillite Quarries in the area lies at the heart of Montgomery County. This state of the art quarry in Lower Salford Twp. was taken over by Elwood A. Groff (circa 1924). It is known as the oldest quarry in the region by tools that were unearthed and dated back at least 150 years in the early 1920’s.
Today, we continue the rich tradition of mining here in Montgomery County and we have expanded our operations to include a Hot-Mix Asphalt Plant. We are easy to get to and able to service the Delaware Valley and all points in New Jersey.
The quarry’s red stone and aggregates are the highest-quality available and
ready for immediate production and pick up or delivery.
The asphalt plant located on-site is open and operated by Allen Myers. Please contact Allen Myers at 610-960-3152 for more information. A digital electronic scale house is on site with a second scale already in the pipeline to ensure quick efficient service for our customers.
Harleysville Materials has an on-site testing facility to ensure consistency and quality control of all our products. We look forward to hearing from you in the near future and giving you a tour of the facility.
