Mount Construction was contracted by the NJTA to rehabilitate 3 piers and fender systems on the Vincent R. Casciano Memorial Bridge.  The 1270 long Casciano Bridge was built in 1956 and connects the cities of Newark and Bayonne.

Project consisted of installing temporary cofferdams around the piers, removing the existing stone, rehabilitation of concrete, replacement of stone, and various fender repairs/replacement.  As with any on water project, this project came with typical challenges of working on water as well as its own unique challenges.  Mount Construction’s experienced supervisor were able to overcome these challenges through their vast knowledge of the work and utilization of Mount Construction’s extensive marine fleet.
