Project Challenge

Due to damage to the existing culvert and neglect of the existing channel the headquarters building of the NJ Turnpike was prone to major flooding.

Mount was hired to demolish the existing culvert and construct a new culvert utilizing both open cut and slip lining methodologies. During the course of this work, Mount constructed an access road to the project site that was approximately a quarter mile long. Excavated and removed approximately 5,000 tons of regulated material. Installed a new steel box culvert and reconstructed the channel to allow water to move efficiently. Project was performed on an accelerated schedule.
