Mount Construction was contracted by the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission to resurface the Milford-Montague Main River Bridge as well as its NJ & PA approaches. The Main River bridge spans 1,150 feet and serves as a direct passageway to the Pocono Mountain Resorts and the Delaware Water Gap Recreation Area. The scope of the project included installation of waterproofing membrane on the bridge deck as well as the reconstruction of the toll plaza’s maintenance yard. Mount had to overcome the challenge of lane closure restrictions of the heavily traveled bridge during the waterproofing and paving operations. Temporary traffic light installation aided the waterproofing procedure of water/shot blasting, membrane material placement + curing time, and finally hot mix asphalt paving to have the bridge open to the traveling public before peak hours. MCC and the DRJTBC are working diligently to complete the bridge work before the snowy ski season ahead.
